Whistleblower Policy
At My Dream Australian Academy (MDAA), we are committed to maintaining a safe,
transparent, and ethical school environment. The Whistleblower Policy protects anyone
who reports serious wrongdoing.
1. Purpose of the Policy
This policy protects individuals who report serious misconduct, ensuring confidentiality,
safety, and lawful handling of concerns.
2. Who Is Protected?
Parents, staff, volunteers, contractors, Board members, suppliers, and their relatives are
protected when making a whistleblower report.
3. What Can Be Reported?
Serious wrongdoing such as fraud, corruption, criminal behaviour, misuse of funds,
governance failures, safety risks, and cover-ups.
4. Whistleblower Protections
Whistleblowers are protected from harm, victimisation, and legal consequences. Their
identity must remain confidential.
5. Who Can Receive a Report?
Eligible recipients include the Board Chair, Principal, Whistleblower Protection Officer
(WPO), auditors, legal advisers, or regulators.
6. How Reports Are Handled
Reports are assessed, investigated independently, handled confidentially, and reviewed by
the Board. Findings lead to corrective action.
7. Role of the Whistleblower Protection Officer (WPO)
The WPO receives disclosures, protects identities, coordinates investigations, and reports
de-identified summaries to the Board.
8. Board Responsibilities
The Board ensures compliance, oversees investigations, monitors risks, and reviews
whistleblower reports regularly.
9. Confidentiality & Security
All whistleblower information is securely stored, with access restricted to authorised staff.
10. Policy Review
This policy is reviewed every two years or earlier if laws or NESA requirements change.
