At My Dream Australian Academy, our Stage 5–6 program supports students through the senior years of schooling as they prepare for the Record of School Achievement, the Higher School Certificate, further study, training, employment and meaningful contribution to the wider community. Guided by the NSW curriculum and NESA syllabuses, students are supported to grow as capable, responsible and purpose-driven learners.

Stage 5 and Stage 6 are important years where students deepen subject knowledge, strengthen study skills and make informed decisions about future pathways. Students are encouraged to set goals, take responsibility for their learning, develop effective study habits and prepare for the academic and personal expectations of senior schooling.
English English Standard; English Advanced Mathematics Mathematics Standard; Mathematics Advanced Science and STEM Biology; Chemistry; Physics; Investigative Science HSIE and Senior Pathways Ancient History; Business Studies; Legal Studies; Studies of Religion Health and Movement Health and Movement Science In Stage 5, students continue to study core learning areas including English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, while also engaging in elective and enrichment opportunities where available. In Stage 6, MDAA offers a broad senior curriculum with strong STEM, HSIE and creative learning pathways. These courses support students to select pathways aligned with their interests, strengths and future goals.
To further support senior students, MDAA provides daily early morning free lessons from 8:00 am. These sessions give students additional time to receive teacher guidance, strengthen subject knowledge, revise key concepts, complete practice tasks and build confidence in preparation for assessment and senior study expectations.
Our daily 8:00 am support lessons provide students with additional opportunities to ask questions, consolidate learning, practise assessment skills and receive guidance before the school day begins.
Technology is used across Stage 5–6 to extend learning beyond the classroom, strengthen independent study and support assessment preparation. Education Perfect is used across learning areas to provide interactive practice and revision, while Stage 6 students are further supported through Atomi and Excel HSC Copilot to consolidate course content, revise key concepts and prepare for HSC-style tasks.
Students are supported to strengthen the literacy and numeracy skills required for success in senior schooling, assessments and future pathways. Through explicit teaching, targeted feedback, assessment preparation and study skills support, students build the confidence to analyse, communicate, problem-solve and demonstrate their learning effectively.
Our Stage 5–6 program encourages students to apply learning beyond the classroom through practical activities, research, projects, excursions, incursions, leadership opportunities and community-minded experiences. These opportunities help students develop independence, collaboration, critical thinking and a deeper understanding of how their learning connects to real-world contexts.
Student wellbeing remains central throughout the senior years. Students are encouraged to maintain balance through physical activity, sport, positive relationships and personal development. Our school supports students to build resilience, confidence, self-discipline and respectful relationships as they prepare for life beyond school.
Arabic and Islamic Studies, together with the wider values-based culture of MDAA, help students strengthen their faith, identity and sense of purpose. Students are encouraged to act with integrity, gratitude, responsibility and service, and to use their knowledge and talents in ways that benefit themselves, their families and the wider community.
