At My Dream Australian Academy, Stage 4 supports students in Years 7 and 8 as they transition into secondary learning. Guided by the NSW curriculum and NESA syllabuses, our Stage 4 program builds strong academic foundations, positive learning habits, confidence, independence and a clear sense of Islamic identity and personal responsibility.

Stage 4 is an important stage of growth where students develop the confidence, organisation and study skills needed for success in high school. Students are supported to adjust to secondary routines, manage learning expectations and participate actively in a broad and balanced curriculum.
From enrolment, MDAA begins the process of understanding each student as an individual learner. Students complete diagnostic assessments that help identify their current strengths, learning needs and areas for growth. These results are used to set clear learning benchmarks and guide teachers in planning appropriate support, extension and targeted intervention. Student progress is then monitored continuously through classwork, assessment tasks, teacher observation, feedback and regular review of learning data. This ongoing follow-up helps ensure that every student’s learning journey is tracked, supported and adjusted as needed so that they can make meaningful progress across Stage 4.
Students engage in key learning areas including English, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Human Society and its Environment, History, Geography, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, Music, Languages, Arabic and Islamic Studies. These subjects help students develop essential knowledge, skills, values and attitudes while exploring new interests and strengths.
Literacy and numeracy are strengthened across all Stage 4 subjects. Students are supported to read, write, speak, listen, reason, problem-solve and communicate with increasing confidence. Teachers use explicit instruction, guided practice, feedback and differentiated support to help each student progress from their current level of achievement.
In Stage 4, technology supports students to extend their learning beyond the classroom, practise key skills and receive targeted learning opportunities. SmartLab is used to strengthen literacy development, while Education Perfect supports learning across subject areas through interactive lessons, revision tasks and personalised practice.
Students participate in practical classroom activities, STEM investigations, projects, incursions and excursions that make learning meaningful and memorable. These experiences encourage curiosity, creativity, teamwork, problem-solving and the ability to connect classroom learning with real-world situations.
Sport and wellbeing are important parts of the Stage 4 experience. Students participate in regular sport and physical activity, including opportunities such as gymnastics, basketball, soccer and team-based programs. These activities support fitness, confidence, resilience, cooperation and positive peer relationships.
Arabic and Islamic Studies are embedded as part of the learning journey at MDAA. Students are encouraged to develop gratitude, respect, honesty, responsibility and care for others while strengthening their faith, identity and moral character in a supportive Islamic school environment.
