Students study a wide range of learning areas including English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Human Society and its Environment, History, Geography, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, Music, Arabic and Islamic Studies. These subjects help students develop essential knowledge, skills, values and learning habits that prepare them for a confident transition into secondary schooling.
Strong literacy and numeracy skills are central to student achievement. Across all subjects, students are supported to read with understanding, write with clarity, communicate effectively, think critically and apply mathematical reasoning to real-world situations. Through explicit teaching, guided practice and inquiry-based learning, students develop the confidence to participate actively in their learning.
Technology is used across Stage 3 learning areas to extend learning beyond the classroom and provide students with additional opportunities to practise, revise and grow. Students use SmartLab to strengthen literacy skills and Education Perfect to support learning across a range of subject areas through interactive, personalised and engaging activities.
Students learn best when they are actively engaged. Our Stage 3–5 program includes practical activities, STEM investigations, classroom projects, incursions and excursions that allow students to apply their learning in meaningful ways. These experiences encourage curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, collaboration and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Physical activity and wellbeing are important parts of student life at MDAA. Students participate in sport twice a week and enjoy opportunities to take part in activities such as gymnastics, basketball, soccer and other team-based programs. These experiences help students build fitness, confidence, teamwork, resilience and positive relationships.
Arabic and Islamic Studies enrich the curriculum and support students in developing a strong sense of identity, faith and moral responsibility. Students are encouraged to demonstrate respect, gratitude, honesty, compassion and responsibility in their daily learning and interactions. Our goal is to nurture young people who are academically capable, spiritually grounded and ready to contribute positively to their community.
