At My Dream Australian Academy (MDAA), we are committed to protecting your family’s
privacy. We carefully manage all personal information in line with the Australian Privacy
Principles and Health Privacy Principles.

We collect personal information to provide quality education, communicate with families,
support student wellbeing, meet legal obligations, and manage school operations.
2. What Information We Collect – Students & Parents
We may collect names, contact details, languages, past schools, medical information,
reports, behaviour notes, family court orders, counselling notes, and photos/videos.
3. What Information We Collect – Staff, Contractors & Volunteers
We may collect background information, training records, health details, payroll details,
complaint records, and photos.
4. How We Collect Information
Through forms, meetings, emails, phone calls, previous schools, medical professionals,
CCTV, and monitored school email systems.
5. Why We Use and Share Information
We use information to support learning, wellbeing, legal reporting, volunteer coordination,
staff management, and safety obligations.
6. Who We Share Information With
We may share information with other schools, government departments, medical
practitioners, counsellors, assessment authorities, IT providers, and parents when required.
7. How We Store Information
Information is stored securely in digital and physical formats, including Microsoft cloud
systems.
8. Sending Information Overseas
Information may be stored overseas when using cloud services, always following privacy
laws and requiring consent when needed.
9. Sensitive Information
Sensitive information (health, ethnic background, religious beliefs) is handled with extra
care and only used when legally allowed or with consent.
10. How We Keep Information Secure
By limiting database access, staff training, secure storage systems, strong ICT security, and
strict privacy procedures.
11. Accessing or Updating Your Information
Parents and older students may request access or corrections by contacting the Principal at

12. Making a Complaint
Privacy complaints can be directed to the Principal. If unresolved, families may contact the
Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
