Ramadan is an annual event that is observed by Muslims all around the world.
The Holy Month of Ramadan commences with the sighting of the new moon and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a time for spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and increased devotion to Allah. This month-long period is considered one of the Five Pillars of Islam, along with the declaration of faith, prayer, charity, and pilgrimage to Mecca.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset every day, abstaining from food, drink, smoking and other physical desires. This act of self-discipline serves as a reminder of those less fortunate who go without these luxuries every day. It also allows individuals to focus on their spirituality and strengthen their relationship with Allah.
Fasting concludes with Eid al-Fitr on April 9, 2024
