Complaints and Grievance Policy
At My Dream Australian Academy (MDAA), we want every student, parent, and staff
member to feel heard, respected, and supported. We are committed to resolving concerns
fairly, respectfully, confidentially, and in a timely manner.
1. Our Commitment to You
We listen to concerns, act without bias, maintain confidentiality, and follow a clear,
transparent process.
2. What Is a Grievance?
A grievance is any concern or complaint about something someone feels is unfair, upsetting,
or not working well.
3. Confidentiality
Only those directly involved will know about the matter. Information is kept private unless
safety is at risk.
4. Timeframe
We aim to resolve concerns quickly, depending on complexity.
5. Stage 1 – Informal Discussion
Most issues are resolved through calm conversation with the person involved, a teacher, or
a school coordinator.
6. Stage 2 – Mediation
If not resolved, concerns may be put in writing. A coordinator leads a respectful mediation
to help both parties agree on solutions.
7. Stage 3 – Investigation
If mediation fails, an investigator reviews statements, interviews parties, and provides a
written finding.
8. Stage 4 – Appeal
If someone believes the decision was unfair, an Appeals Committee reviews documents and
makes a final determination.
9. Rights & Responsibilities
Parents have the right to be heard, have confidentiality, bring a support person, and receive
fair treatment. They must act respectfully and maintain confidentiality.
10. Complaints About Staff Misconduct or Child Safety
Concerns about staff misconduct or child safety must be reported immediately to the
Principal or School Board if the Principal is involved.
