My Dream Australian Academy
Anti-Bullying Policy
At My Dream Australian Academy (MDAA), every child has the right to feel safe, respected,
and supported. We are committed to providing a learning environment where students can
grow academically, emotionally, and socially—free from bullying or harm.
Our policy aligns with NESA guidelines and is grounded in Islamic values of kindness,
respect, and dignity for all.
What Is Bullying? Bullying happens when someone repeatedly and intentionally harms
another person. It involves an imbalance of power and may be physical, verbal, social,
psychological, or online.
Examples include hitting, name-calling, exclusion, spreading rumours, intimidation, and
cyberbullying.
How Our School Prevents Bullying: We teach Islamic values, deliver anti-bullying lessons,
supervise high‑traffic areas, encourage reporting, and act quickly on concerns.
Student Responsibilities: Treat others with respect, act safely online, support peers, and
report bullying to a trusted adult.
Parent Responsibilities: Read the policy with your child, encourage positive online
behaviour, build resilience, report bullying promptly, and work with the school to resolve
issues.
How MDAA Responds to Bullying: We investigate all reports, speak confidentially with all
involved, document findings, provide support, and apply consequences.
Witnessing Bullying: Students are encouraged to speak up, report incidents, and support
peers rather than staying silent.
Additional School Strategies: Peer support programs, staff training, student surveys, and
accessible communication strengthen our approach.
Monitoring and Review: The policy is reviewed every year using incident data, student
voice, and community consultation.
Message to Families: Bullying is never acceptable. Every child deserves safety and dignity.
Please contact us if your child needs support.
